Our Story:Â From Calling to Company
A personal note from Shannon Rheault, Founder & CVO
I didn’t leave a global training career because I was burned out.Â
And I didn’t start this company because I had it all figured out.
I left because something deeper was asking me to listen.
Something I could no longer quiet or ignore.
For years, I worked with incredible organizations all around the world, designing and delivering leadership, sales, and safety programs. I loved the work. I was proud of the impact. But there came a moment when I knew it wasn’t enough, not for me.
I wanted to do the work differently.
More intentionally.
More personally.
More human.
I’ve always believed that potential lives inside everyone. But over the years, I noticed something:
“Potential isn’t rare. People who live up to it are.”
And I started to wonder… why?
Why do some leaders rise, while others hesitate?
Why do some teams thrive, while others quietly burn out?
I came to understand it’s not because people don’t care.
It’s because they often don’t feel seen, safe, or supported in the ways that matter.
So, in June 2018, I took a breath and then a leap. I founded The Accountability Partners (TAP).
It wasn’t a grand business move. It was a quiet, personal commitment to create something that aligned with my values, my story, and the kind of leadership I want to leave behind in this world.
Because I don’t believe we grow businesses without growing people. And I don’t believe we lead well without learning how to show up with clarity, with courage, and with heart.
TAP was never just about training.
It was about stewardship.
Stewarding the gifts I’ve been given.
Stewarding the hard things I’ve walked through.
Stewarding the privilege I have to teach, to influence, and to support others in finding their own way forward.
You see, I’m not only a founder and facilitator.
I’m also a mom. A mentor. And the primary caregiver to my brother, who lives with severe mental illness.
That part of my life has shaped how I see everything especially leadership. It’s taught me that safety isn’t just physical it’s emotional.
That communication isn’t just about clarity it’s about care.
That showing up for people doesn’t always look like having answers it often just means being present.
I’m building this company alongside my two oldest children, Nathan and Hannah each of us bringing our own gifts, grit, and perspective into this work. Together, we’re weaving our values into every conversation, every program, every moment we get to share space with the people and organizations we serve.
And honestly, it’s the most meaningful work I’ve ever done.
We believe that leadership isn’t about status or hierarchy.
It’s about how you show up when it counts.
It’s about how you treat people.
It’s about the trust you build and how you repair it when it’s broken.
“Not everyone wants to do the work to tap into their potential.”
But for those who do… the ripple effect is undeniable.Â
The bigger vision for TAP includes something deeply personal: We’re creating training and support systems for families and caregivers of loved ones navigating mental illness and addiction.
Because no one should feel alone in those roles.
And we believe leadership can be a force for good not just in business, but in the everyday lives of people who are doing their best to hold it all together.
This is a page from my story.
One I’m honoured to share.
And one I hope helps you feel a little more connected, a little more hopeful, and a little more seen.
Because at the heart of it, that’s what TAP is all about.
A safe place to learn.
A brave place to grow.
A human place to lead from.
Thanks for being here.
Really.

Why TAP
A better way to lead, built by people who walk the talk.
There’s no shortage of training companies out there. But if you’ve ever sat through a session that felt more like a lecture than a conversation—or left a leadership retreat inspired but unsure how to apply what you just learned—you know something’s missing in the way we develop people today.
That’s why TAP exists. And that’s why we show up differently.
We’re not the loudest name in the room. But we might be the most human. We are a Canadian, woman-owned, inclusive small business that leads with purpose, not ego. We are not here to impress you—we’re here to walk beside you as you build something meaningful and lasting in your workplace.
We don’t believe in perfect leaders. We believe in present ones. Consistent ones. Curious, courageous, and accountable ones.
And we believe the right training doesn’t just change skills—it changes how people feel about showing up to work.
How We Work
We don’t teach from a podium. We sit at the table with your team. We facilitate reflective, interactive conversations—often the kind that leaders don’t get time or space for in the day-to-day.
We ask questions that go beneath the surface. We use models that are clear, modern, and practical. We create environments where people feel safe enough to be honest, and supported enough to stretch.
And we take responsibility seriously: Leaders and sponsors set the tone. Participants bring willingness. We bring presence, clarity, and thoughtful design. We aren’t here to perform training. We’re here to help people lead with more intention, and more trust.
What We Focus On
Yes, we care about results. But not just the ones on paper.
We focus on:
- Retention of people and trust
- Action plans that get implemented—not forgotten
- Leadership capacity on the ground, not just in the C-suite
- Culture people want to stay in, not escape fromÂ
Everything we design—from our TAP Trust Model to our ELEVATE Leadership Framework or LEVEL-UP Turnaround Program—is built around one thing: Practical growth that honours the human behind the job title. Because before someone can lead others, they have to know how to lead themselves. Before change sticks, it needs to make sense and feel safe. Before people give you their best—they need to feel seen.
Â
Who We Serve
We work with:
- Senior leadership teams looking to elevate culture and communication
- Field and frontline leaders who need to lead clearly under pressure
- Individual contributors ready to grow their confidence and presence
- Organizations who know the future of business is human, not hierarchical
We design for those who are done with surface-level and ready for something real.
Why Our Clients Return to TAP Over and Over
Because we make people feel supported. Because we stay humble, and we stay consistent. Because we believe training isn’t about checking a box—it’s about building the kind of teams people want to be part of.
We bring:
- Compassion without coddling
- Clarity without complexity
- Conversations that create change
If that’s the kind of leadership development you’re looking for, then maybe we’re your people. We’re not trying to be everything to everyone. We’re trying to be the right fit for those who value heart, integrity, and meaningful growth.
Thanks for being here. Let’s keep building something better—together.
