Building a Business That Matters

Building a Business That Matters

This week has challenged me—as a leader, as a person, and as an entrepreneur. I’ve been outside my comfort zone, and honestly? It’s lonely here. But growth doesn’t live inside the comfort zone—neither does impact.

The way I’ve navigated my boulders this week—the self-doubt, fear, and creeping anxiety—wasn’t by powering through with grit alone. It was by remembering what boosts me: the mission, the people, the possibilities. I reminded myself why I started, and leaned into the tools we built at TAP to help others do the same.

Look, there are dozens of voices out there promising guaranteed formulas for success, but the truth is there is no one-size-fits-all formula.

Being a successful entrepreneur, leader, or human takes more than vision and strategy. It takes:

  • A strong mindset
  • Grit and stamina
  • Creativity and courage
  • A willingness to face the boulders
  • And a commitment to lean into your boosters—what fuels you, inspires you, and keeps you going

That’s why we’ve built proprietary tools and customizable programs at TAP. They're designed to help us navigate the hard stuff. Define the boulders, uncover the boosters, and keep moving forward with clarity and purpose. Two tools that really stand out for me are the TAP Boulders & Boosters Action Sheet, which helps us explore and move through internal obstacles, and the TAP Obstacle Wheel, a visual framework to help systematically overcome external challenges with intention and strategy. These aren't cookie-cutter solutions—they're frameworks built from lived experience and adapted for real leaders and real life.

I’ve learned that showing up imperfectly is still showing up. I’ve learned that courage doesn’t always roar—it often whispers, "Keep going."

This journey has been the steepest learning curve of my life. But it’s also been the most rewarding. I’ve had tough days. I’ve had tears. And I’ve had moments where I questioned everything. But the one thing I haven’t done, is quit. And I don’t think you will either.

Because I see you. I know some of you are crushing your goals. And some of you are stuck, overwhelmed, or wondering if you’ve still got what it takes.

You do.

Boulders will land in your path. But they don’t get to define your journey. If you’re ready to move, but unsure where to start—let us know. This isn’t a sales pitch. It’s our purpose. We built TAP to help organizations, leaders, and teams like yours get unstuck and make progress that matters.

So, take a minute to gain some perspective. Look at your boulders from a distance, so that you can see what’s required to get through or around them. Utilize the tools that will boost you forward. Most of all, don’t let anything stop you from reaching your potential!
